God?

In his last book “Brief Answers to the Big Questions”, Stephen Hawking the late theoretical physicist declared that “There is no God”.

The British scientist suffered from Lou Gehrig’s disease, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). According to Hawking, “for centuries  it was believed that disabled people like me were living under a curse that was inflicted by God,” he wrote. “I prefer to think that everything can be explained another way, by the laws of nature.”

In the same book, Stephen Hawking also points out to the possibility of other forms of intelligent life in space, time travel, and also the possibility that in the next 100 years  we will be able to travel anywhere in space. He also states that artificial intelligence could outsmart humans.

To the question, “How do we shape the future?”,  Hawking’s reply is “Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet.”

This book was completed by Stephen Hawking’s daughter after his death in March 2018.
