A young research student working under the famous mathematician Jacobi spent a long time with him without starting any research work. When Jacobi questioned him about it, the student said he was waiting to complete his reading of all the earlier work on the subject.
Jacobi told him, “Dear man, if your father had waited to see all the girls before marrying one, where would you be? I would like you to make a start somewhere”
