India Science

For many parents and students, the two most sought after careers are in engineering and medicine. Science education is the second most common field of study throughout the country and there is also a huge coaching/publishing industry that caters to this demand for science education at all levels from school to university. Unfortunately, science research, breakthroughs in science and technology are not given prime space on TV and most newspapers also do not give space to science and technology news.

In order that scientific culture should develop in India the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt of India, has started a 24×7 video platform dedicated to science and technology knowledge dissemination. This is “India Science”, an Internet-based science Over-The-Top (OTT) TV channel.

India Science covers Science & Technology, Physics and Astronomy, Environment and Energy, Engineering, Health and Medicine, Natural Science, GeoScience, Environment and Wildlife, Children’s Curiosity, Science and Society, Architecture and Design, Agriculture, Innovations, Scientific Heritage, and Science Policy To make the whole experience educational and entertaining, India Science uses interactive formats like Documentaries, Discussion, Demonstrations / Experiment Shows, Quizzes, Game shows, Science Fiction, Docu-Dramas, Specials, Scientists’ Biographies. Although the main focus is on India’s contribution to science and technology, it will also cover the latest S&T developments from all around the world.

India Science (www.indiascience.in) is a bilingual Science Channel in Hindi and English. India Science can be accessed on any device that has Internet connectivity — laptop, desktop, smartphones (Android / iOS), smart TVs etc. The India Science Mobile App can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple Store. The channel is also available on Jio TV, Jio TV+, Jio STB and Jio Chat.
